Question

Why do full screen windows get chopped off at the bottom edge?

Why when I enlarge and extend a window to occupy the entire screen, does it get cut off at the bottom??

This same thing happens also in InDesign but not Illustrator.

The correct behaviour is for the bottom edge of the window to lock in place and not go "off the screen".
This is driving me nuts...

In this screenshot u can see that the bottom of the monitor is not reached, yet there is still a slight cropping. This doesnt change when resizing the window.

Hi Caitlin.  Can you start a new thread please.  There have been a lot of updates since this thread was started, and your issue is likely different from the thread starter's

We need to know your operating system and version?

Whether this is with the release or beta version of Photoshop and is it the latest version?

Is this a laptop, are you using more than one screen, and what the screen resolution is?

If Windows, have you tried Windows key and up arrow a couple of times to make sure the window is maximised?

Are other apps definitely fitting the screen properly?

@TypoMan23

Can you show your entire screen with all the panels? You can use the Screenshot application that comes with macOS.

It might that the window is lower than your monitor. One possibility is that the application needs to be resized and or moved upwards, but it's hard to tell with this small snippet. You can resize from any corner, then drag the title bar to move the application higher (if this turns out to be the issue.)

Is your Application frame (Window menu) on or off?

When I open a file in ID (screenshots), the bottom of the window is fully in place and visible.
But when I go to resize it, and then extend it down to the bottom, it allows the window go "over the edge" and off the screen.

Why is it doing this? Thank you.

Hi @TypoMan23

Your window is larger than your monitor.

1. Resize the window from anywhere along the top edge. Use the corners if you need to go in two directions.

2. Drag the title bar upwards until you can see the bottom edge.

Alternatively, go to Window menu > Arrange > Consolidate all Windows. Your window is floating.

You posted to Photoshop, but your question seems to be about InDesign. Let us know so we can move your post.
