Question

Why do the demos use generative AI credits

So, Adobe announce some new feature in Photoshop. ‘Give it a try’. OK, work through the demo, only to find that it has used a fifth of my monthly credit allowance. Does this seem like an absolute scam to anyone else?

I can understand your frustration. When Adobe encourages you to "Give it a try", it's reasonable to expect a demonstration without unexpectedly using a significant portion of your monthly credits.

Unfortunately, the demos use the actual generative AI features, which can consume credits depending on the feature and model being used.

If you're demonstrating a new feature to paying customers, surely providing a few complimentary generations for the tutorial would make sense, or at the very least displaying exactly how many credits each step will consume before proceeding.

Out of curiosity, which feature were you demonstrating, and which Creative Cloud plan are you on? Losing 20% of your monthly allowance seems quite substantial, and it would be worth checking whether that amount is correct.
