Why does color picker not pick the color selected on canvas and after when using the brush it bounces around the canvas?

When I select a color with color picker it doesn’t retain the color picked and when I use the brush it bounces all over the canvas. How do I fix this?

The bouncing of the brush is a known issue.

It’s possible that the color picker is also affected by this.

You can try to reset the Photoshop preferences. Sometimes it may help.

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset: Back up and restore Photoshop preferences | Photoshop
