Why Does Generative Fill Eat Credits for Breakfast
Hi,, other than an unlimited AI gen fill plan - how can you work out exactly how many credits a gen fill will use per image with a single text command?
Example - I wanted to try gen fill for the first time with a batch of approx 30 tiff files 7000x6000px. The simple text command was - Isolate the subject - Mask and remove the reflections and smudges and bright studio light in the mirror behind the subject whilst retaining the original background reflection in the mirror but blur the mirror slightly, keep the main subject in focus.
Used Gemini with Nano Banano Pro ticked .
I paid for a basic gen fill plan which provides 2000 credits and ran out before completing the batch of 30. Spoke to chat support and they advised 40 credits per gen fill with that premium model compared with 1-10 for standard Firefly. So by my calculations I should have had plenty with a few spare?
So how do you work out how may credits are needed for say a client batch of 100 files? I’m probably over thinking this and should just go with a premium plan and dip in and out - buy / cancel each month as required but that seems like a lot of effort.
Just miffed on the first time using Adobe PS gen fill cedits and running out before the job was done on a boring task that I thought might be a good use for Ai - sigh, back to masking elements by hand.
For anyone interested the gen fill request took about a minute to complete per image, and even though the same text command was used on an identical scene, with the exception the subject had moved, (so more or less of the mirror reflections could be seen) no two results were identical, and in each result the subject was blurred and had to blended in afterwards. I would have thought machine learning would identify the same scene and then repeat the same gen fill action, again. Probably expecting too much..
