Why does Photoshop reset my canvas rotation when any window is opened

Not sure if this is a bug or "feature" but it sure did not used to be a problem and is driving me off the walls.

 

Whenever I rotate the canvas wih the Rotate View tool and I open any pop up window, like let's say Ctrl+M for Curves, it resets the canvas view.

 

I have not found a single post about this or anyone talking about it so it feels almost liek a bug, but it is too easy to reproduce t hat it feels like a feature.

 

Can anyone help me to stop this behaviour?

    I don't have this problem, neither in the beta nor v24.4.1 on PC Win 10, so maybe it depends on a setting/preference somewhere where it really shouldn't...

    If I was desperate, I would try out different Preferences (and/or reset them).

    As the bug was already confirmed, I'd expect a fix much sooner than October.

    Thanks I do not think I have touched much beside, setting some stuff to legacy mode, I was having a look of possible settings that could help, but I could not find anything remotely close to the canvas features. I do not believe I have ever had this problem until the recent PS updates.

      There is another kind of bug that weirdly gets "fixed" by setting a seemingly unrelated setting, so really anything might unexpectedly help... 😉

      There are tons of settings in Prefs that you don't really need or are less important, so I would play with those. You could even reverse all checkmarks one tab at a time, just to check if it helps. If not, reverse them again and do it on the next tab.

      If you say it used to work on your exact same version, then ok... — a new October version may help in that case (or a coming fix).

      We had another post on this issue in the last week, and the poster was sure that it is a different behaviour to previous versions.  Unfortunately, and AFAIK, there is fix as such, but we can make Adobe aware and hope it is put right in a future update.  There is usually a major update in October during MAX, but unless they were already working on it, that is probably too soon to expect a fix.
