Why is everything blurry again?

I am making a 300x99 banner for a website, something I have done several times in the past, but when I drag an image onto it, the image is extremely blurry and pixelated. This has happened many times before but I have no clue what I ever do to fix it. What am I missing this time?

To me the 100% screenshot does not seem blurry.

You could apply some sharpening, I guess.

Could this be connected to the fact that browsers may upsample images when displaying them on »retina« to other hiDpi displays?

Could you post screenshots taken at View > 100% including the Layers Panel?

Do you place the image asa Smart Object?

I will take this as it being ok to post then. Admins, if it isn't please delete or have me do so.

Here is the screenshot, to me it still looks blurry.  And after that is the GIF I made for a Pornhub ad, which is also slightly blurry but doesn't look as bad

Maybe the resolution of that image is too low. I had to do this with a low res image I placed.

    Try this...

Once you have your image in Photoshop, go to Image > Image Size...

Ensure the resolution is at 300

Make sure the Resample box is checked

Then click the drop down arrow and change it from Automatic to Preserve Details 2.0

    Click OK

    Hope this helps.

    Hi JustinBrad,

Could you please try increasing the dpi to 300 and keep the resolution at 300x99 and see if it helps?

Better but still blurry. And I Also have no idea why things keep getting changed like this. This time it was set for 1 DPI

What is the width and height of the image, you're dragging and putting on to the document?
