Question

Will updating to the newest version stand in for all available previous updates?

Having passed on or omitted some previous software updates, will the newst update contain vs replace all older ones?

It depends partially on how old the version is that you are using. A few features were removed because newer operating systems don’t support them. Examples are 3D and Camera Shake — both are long gone.

Most features are the same; some are updated; some are new.

You can install the current plus one previous version, and can have multiple versions installed. You can’t reinstall the version you have, so be sure to keep it as Srishti said.

    Hi @dKnit

Thank you for reaching out. Updating to newer versions is absolutely fine, but I’d recommend following a few best practices:

    • Please make sure you do not remove the existing version if it is working well for you. Keeping the previous working version installed can be helpful in case you run into any issues with the latest update.
    • Before updating, make sure your system meets the hardware and system requirements for the latest version.
    • For Photoshop, you can review the supported system requirements here: Photoshop system requirements

This can help ensure a smoother experience when moving to a newer version.
