Windows Paint doing a better job with background removal than Photoshop
I am a bit frustraded, as windows paint, which is free does a better jon with bacground removal than Photoshop does. Please see included images.

Try using the Object Selection Tool, it will do a better job in this particular case, especially when helping to outline what you want to keep.
