Question

Wish Photoshop had a locked grouping feature, Containment relationships can be locked.

For example:
I have two groups, Group A (contains layers A1 A2 A3),Group B (contains layers B1 B2 B3)

Now I have grouped group A and group B into group C again.
I want A1 A2 A3 to be linked relationships, unless manually, they are always locked in group A.
Also, B1 B2 B3 as well.

Also A ,B are always locked in C.

Now this is not possible, you may not upset the linking relationships during frequent manipulation, but the containment relationships are quickly misplaced.

I would hope that, unless you artificially unlock it, the containment relationships, up and down, of groups or layers within a cluster are unchanged.

Thank you.

Please don’t be discouraged by me not perceiving the benefit of your idea or misunderstanding it.

Feature Requests should be marked »Idea« and not »Discussion«, though, so others can add their vote.

Maybe start a new thread and try to provide a clear description with illustrating screenshots and explain how it would improve your workflow.

When moving/transforming Group A all the contained Layers should be moved/transformed together (unless there are unlinked Layer Masks/Vector Masks or some of them are locked).

Same when moving/transforming Group C.

So it seems unclear to me what you mean exactly; please clarify with the requested screenshots.

I mean:
Being able to always lock A and B always under C.
The relationship between the top and bottom of the layers will not be easily altered.
Unless you manually undo that relationship.

In practice, a little inattention and these relationships are disrupted.
They are still linked together, but the layers are long gone.

Actually, what I'm talking about is this: provide a special feature that can lock several layers, or groups always together.
Beyond simple linking, there is the upper and lower layer relationship locking.

This is often used in adjustment layers, and it may be that after a while, the main layer and the adjustment layer are often not together.

I do not follow that »explanation«.

What do you actually mean? Are you talking about transforming/moving, relative positions in the layer stack, …?

I don’t understand what you mean.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?
