Question

Working DPX in Photoshop without saving with Cineon suffix, or metadata that editing rigs don't like

coulda sworn I've done this in the past with success but now I'm having trouble:

I'm working 4K DPX in Photoshop, which insists on saving the modified frames as Cineon. When I try to put the .cin frames back into the image sequence for Resolve or Premiere, it leaves them offilne, no longer recognizes just those frames. The modified frames have the exact names as the source DPX, except with the .con suffix. If I change .cin to .dpx it doesn't help.

MacOS 10.12 - Photoshop 2022 - Resolve17 - Premiere 2025

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong or have a suggestion?

TIA,

-gax

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
