Workspace lost with updates

With each (frequent) update of Photoshop and Illustrator Beta, when I open the updated app the workspace I created (takes a few minutes each time) is gone and only the Default workspaces are available so I have to reacreate my workspace. Is there a way to save / access / synce workspaces to the updated version?

Did you ever save your Workspace (Window > Workspace > New Workspace)?

Are you familiar with Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets?

As for the default locations of preferences see

Thanks! That sounds like what I want. > Export.
Didn’t know that was there.

Same for Illustrator, "Export Settings"?

I am not completely sure Illustrator includes the Workspaces there, you should test or you could ask on the Illustrator Forum.

Generally it seems prudent to save all custom Presets (acr, abr, kys, …) occasionally and back the files up in case »catastrophic« damage should ever befall a computer.
