Z50 NEF files will not open in either Photoshop or Lightroom - and I've downloaded latest raw update

Nikon Z50 NEF files will not open in either Photoshop or Lightroom - and I've downloaded latest raw update. I can drop them into Photo Mechanic and I can see both the JPEG and NEF files. I also have a Nikon Z6, and those NEF files can open up in Photoshop directly.

What exact latest version of ACR have you downloaded and which exact Nikon Z50 version are you using?

The Z50II is shown as having final support added in ACR version 17.1, Lightroom Classic 14.1 and Lightroom 8.1

Hello, I have the Z50_2 and photoshop 24.5.0, ACR is 16.5, Lightroom is
6.5, Lightroom Classic is 12.3, raw 15.3

I'm not completely computer savvy but that is what I have found in the
programs you asked about

As mentioned by @davescm -You will need to upgrade your Lightroom, Lightroom-Classic and Photoshop Apps.

Z50-II listed in the link given by Dave indicates the minimum app versions required-

If for some reason you cannot upgrade the apps in the CC Desktop App, then you might need to investigate the Adobe DNG Converter.
