Question

Zoom doesn't zoom where the cursor is

Since the update of Photoshop 2026, the zoom isn't working as it used to in the previous version of Photoshop.

I'm using a Logitech MX Master 3S mouse on a Mac.

I use the thumb wheel for zooming and since the update, it makes a centered zoom instead of following the cursor position, and zoom at the place where it's positionned.

I had a screen sharing session with a technician and everything seemed okay in my PS settings and in the Logitech App, so it's probably an issue that needs an update.

He suggested to fill out this form to signal the issue.

@Alexandre29139844tgk5 I am assuming the technician cleared Photoshop preferences for any preferences that may be corrupted. . If not, close PS. Restart PS, while, holding down the following key combination: Cmd Option Shift (Mac). Keep the keys held down until you see a prompt asking if you want to "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File?" And say yes.

While the technician likely checked this, it's worth double-checking after an update. In your PS Preferences, Select the Tools category and make sure the box next to Zoom with Scroll Wheel is checked. The box next to Zoom Resizes Windows is UNCHECKED (somtimes this is enabled during updates and can interfere with cursor-centered zoom). Also, in General or Tools - Uncheck the box next to Animated Zoom. Disabling "Animated Zoom" forces Photoshop to use a simpler scrolling features

I'm having the exact same issue but not with mouse, with a trackpad. The 2 finger zoom in Photoshop doesn't follow the mouse cursor, it just zooms to center. In Lightroom it just acts like I'm dragging the zoom slider, completely ignoring where my cursor is. Could it be a recent update that caused this? I tried playing around with the settings to no avail...
