Zoom in / out (scaling) smart object layer mask in a Photoshop animated timeline not working

Hey,

Trying to figure it out scaling a mask mockup in a Photoshop animated timeline.
I created a video with the zoom function through After effects. > Created smart object layer mask (to make it easy to double-click and upload designs for clients).
Is possible with layer mask to create timeline to track the layer mask together with the zoom in? I tried with smart object (no layer mask) and it works fine if I tranform the smart object with layer mask starting from END position to START position in timeline and it doesn't work. Any ideas?

A Layer Mask is »plain« pixel content; so animating it destructively for an animation does not seem to make sense.

Use a Smart Object instead of the Layer Mask, for example as the basis of a Clipping Mask if you cannot include it in the Smart Object itself.

Hey gian7. I'll help you figure this out.

What version of Photoshop and operating system are you using? Are you using a Frame Animation Timeline or a Video Timeline?

Thanks!
