ACR 16.0.0.1677 in PSE 2024 Toggle Visibility Problem

The latest ACR 16.0.0.1677 for PSE 2024 has the "Toggle Visibility" icon grayed out and non-functional. This ACR switch allows a temporary look at the original image after "Edit" > "Auto".

The previous ACR 15.5.5.0.1595 has the functional "Toggle Visibility" icon switch.

I resolved this problem by retrieving this previous ACR from another computer with an un-updated ACR

and copying the "File Formats" folder at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 24\" from one computer to the other.

OK. I see what you mean. I've never had a need to use that toggle button. It seems to work in Elements 2022, but not in Elements 2023 or 2024. I will report it to Adobe. But don't hold your breath waiting for a fix.

Added: The problem with the ACR toggle in my Elements 2023 installation may be that I also have the latest version of ACR installed there. @ABWay can you tell me what verion of ACR is being used in your 12-15-23 update of the program?

The problem is with the ACR plug-in not PSE 2024 or 2023.

In December, my PSE 2024 had a fully functional ACR (v. 15.5.5.0.1595).

Only when Adobe offered an ACR update (v. 16.0.0.1677) in April did the Toggle Visibility icon stop working.

ACR for PSE is located in "the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 24\File Formats" folder. Because I had an un-updated ACR on another computer, I can switch between the old/good and new /bad ACRs and see the Toggle Visibility icon switch from alive to gray-ed out by activating either the new/bad or the old/bad "File Formats" folder (I change this folder's name to activate/inactivate).

Thanks for reporting to Adobe. They update the ACR plug-in from time to time, so maybe they'll fix this sooner than later.

Can you show us a screenshot of the toggle button you are talking about? I am currently using the latest ACR from the Creative Cloud 16.2.1.xxx in Elements and all of the preview toggles seem to be working. If this is an issue that some are having with the Elements 2024.2 update, then Adobe needs to know.

My ACR plug-in update of 4-20-24 has the above grayed out Toggle Visibility icon/swtich (see upper right across from BASIC).

My ACR plug-in update of 12-15-23 has a functional Toggle Visibility icon/swtich.
