Actions

I updated my Photoshop camera raw two days ago and ever since then, not sure if its mixed in but I can't get my actions to play. I can play them but nothing happens, until I save the file then it changes the file. Anyone have advice ? I'm trying to use a matte black and white action and it isn't working.
