Actual Pixels

Question

Hi, Just wondering if there is a setting that I can change so that all photos open as "actual pixels" for sizing? Or do I have to do it for every photo as I open them? Or can I set a certain size as default?

For example, I have a photo that is only 100x100 pixels, when I first open it, it opens at 555% and I have to right click and select "actual pixels" to see it at the right size, or manually change the percentage to 100%. I have just upgraded from an old version Photoshop and small photos like this always just opened at 100%. Other photos I have might be 320x400 pixels and they open at around 148%. All are blurry until I take them back to 100%.

I hope I am making sense, I have searched all over the place and can only find how to change it manually. I am hoping there is a setting I can change to save this step, but maybe it doesn't exist any more?

Editing to add: I found a help page that suggested working out my screen resolution and multplying by my screen size and changing the default 72 resolution, which I have done and this did not help (changed 72 to 101).

Just get used to the old shortcuts to toggle between 100% and fit screen in the tool pallet:

- double click on the magnifier glass for 100%

- or on the hand tool for fit in screen.

The fit in screen view is practically the only one to use by default for normal pictures from cameras with a decent resolution and the 100% view is used from time to time in the editing process. Working with very small sizes as you suggest is a marginal use. Creating an option for remembering your choice does not seem to be necessary when you see how fast it is to double click the 'magnifier glass'.
