In Elements 2020, how can I add crop sizes to the list of presets?

Keep in mind that a clear difference between the 'pro' and the 'consumer' Adobe softwares is the ability to customize, add presets, actions, scripts and batch capability. 'Consumers' or 'amateurs' are expected to have more time... They are also supposed to be smarter to compensate the lack of thousands of options that you can replace with combinations of more 'basic' tools. The challenge may be fun.

Oldad said: Well, I can't even do as you suggest. When I go to Marque Tool, the only sizing options I see are either in pixels, ratio or normal. Can't set marque in inches there. Thanks for the response, though.

In Marquee Tool settings bar, set aspect to Fixed Size.  Right click, Width/Height value fields and select inches as UOM.

I very much doubt that is possible. This question has been asked several times without answers, apart that the last defined custom crop should be sticky.

Personnally, I process not only my raw files in ACR, but also my jpegs. The ACR conversion module lets you define one custom crop, for instance I often use 297 x 210 for A4 or a very similar one for pages of books. Only one custom 'preset', but it is available for a batch operation. Cropping in the ACR module is non-destructive.

It's beginning to look that way to me also.

Apparently that was a feature in some previous versions of elements, according to a utube video I saw.

I had gotten used to creating these crop presets in my verion of Photoshop CS.  Adobe planned obsolecence did me in.

Yes, I see there may be other ways to accomplish more or less what I want, but it was so simple before.

Thanks for the info.

Invariably I use the Rectangular Marquee tool. On the tool's option bar, enter the value for height and width, e.g. 4inx6in, The numbers remain sticky until you change them.

Once you have it set up, activate the Rectangular Marquee tool, and place the crop boundary to embace what you wish to retain. Then, go to Image>Crop.
