Question

Adobe ask you to register PSE already registered

Some years ago, I bought and registered PSE 13. I have now switched to a new Windows 11 PC, downloaded and installed PSE 13 without problems.

When I execute PSE for the first time Adobe tells me that “Sign in Required” Enter Adobe ID to register your product.

But it is already registered! That’s how I got it in the first place. So I’m stuck!

Have you tried doing what is asked of you?  All that should be needed is to enter your Adobe ID/email address.  You are installing the program on a new computer and your are required to enter the serial number to activate it on that device.  If you are having problems with the activation, try removing your computer from the internet and activating it offline by following the instructions found in this Adobe HelpX article.

Thank you for a quick response.

When I execute PSE without an internet connection I am told to sign in and
register my product.

What I have done is the following:

I have logged on to Adobe and downloaded the product registered several
years ago. This works fine and a ......trial.exe is downloaded.

When I execute this the installation process starts. During this process I
state that I have bought the product in a shop. I am told to login with my
adobe id and then I am asked to enter the serial number. This is ok and the
installation process is successfully completed.

But when I execute the program for the first time I am asked to sign in and
register the product!

Additional information:

I have the original installation CD. But the installation process does not
start when I double click on the CD.

My username on the PC is not the same as my username on the old PC where
PSE was installed originally. PSE is still installed on the old PC.
