I run win10 and Adobe Elements 13.1. It says no codec available for certain video files - all in 3gp format. How can I fix this problem ?

In advance thanks for any and all help.

@poulbr

If you decide to update, PS Elements is on sale through January 3:

Can I download it and install it at a later point in time or does it
automatically install when I purchase and download?

You're "spinning your wheels"- that's a polite way of saying I think you are wasting your time, if you think you can get old, unsupported software to do this.  Your best bet? Probably any number of free online coversion tools.

IN Priemere elements, the latest version I downloaded and played a 3gp file with no issues- it was suprizingly clear for a format designed for use on 3g phones.

Thanks. Would an updated version of PSE be capable of viewing this 3gp format?

I am not at all a video user, but I can tell you that I have downloaded a sample of this 3gp format. It is recognized and imported in the current PSE2022 organizer, which can play it normally. That sample can be viewed in Windows Media Player or VLC media player.

Edit:

I found in my organizer a dozen of .3gp files taken from an Android phone in 2009, and managed in PSE15. Older versions (6, 10 and 12) required a Quicktime component to play them in their respective catalogues.
