Error: An integer between 50 and 8 is required | Elements | Windows 10

The last Windows update has created an awful lot of problems with different symptoms.

Most users who have tried the registry edit reported their issues were solved.

Have a look at all the recent discussions about those problems.

    Hi,

since the windows upgrade I am getting the same message, followed by 'not enough memory' . I have reset my computer & reloaded the Elements from scratch & it still will not work.

I need Adobe to sort this/Windows to sort this - I am not IT literate enough to mess about any further.

You don't need to be IT literate to understand that there has not been any change in the code of your Elements. You have read that Microsoft has changed the code of the Windows routines used by Elements on your computer. So replacing the Adobe code by the same code can't be a solution.

First, this is a user to user forum where volunteers try go give help.

You are not speaking to Adobe, nor with Microsoft.

Adobe has already provided the workaround to make your Elements work again. Most people understandably reluctant to fiddle with the registry (two minutes and no catastrophe from the thousands of users having made it) can get help from friends or relatives. If you can't find one, try to contact Adobe directly. 'Contact Us' in the help section and choose the 'chat' option. If you expect to get Adobe staff to get hold of your computer to change the registry, that seems optimistic (you won't be alone and it's week-end hours). Other users with older Elements versions than your current PSE2018 won't get help at all.

On the Microsoft side, you might get help to revert to the previous Windows 10 version. Some have done this successfully by themselves, but my guess is that the process will be much longer than the registry edit. And that's only a temporary solution since Microsoft will eventually update your computer.

    Hi,

Thanks to replying to my post.

I was aware that this is a forum where people are helping but I was so frustrated and upset. The Adobe chat option was unavailable, the support centre was closed, and I had a load of processing to do.

But I calmed down when I read your reply and followed the link.

As you wrote, it IS easy to do and it has worked.

So thank you very very much for your time and knowledge.
