Can we get the OPTION of Dark mode? Not mandatory for everyone - if you don't like Dark mode, don't you worry.  But the option=- that's what we're asking for, Adobe.

It's insane this discussion is not over in 2023. EVERY* platform, EVERY* app, EVERY* service has moved to dark mode or the option. I cannot believe we are STILL begging this company for what is now a standard feature.

Good news.

Well, I guess someone at Adobe was listening, is there any chance of  an update being issued to Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 users!

I don't see why I should buy another package when Adobe failed in the first place....

I agree with you.

Adobe should be paying users for suggesting essential improvements,
never mind charging them for a new version.

However this is typical of old-school software publishers such as Adobe.

Dark mode is infinitely better in my opinion as the light mode will often cause glare and result in your eyes closing the irises (as in sunshine) and giving you what appears to be an underexposed image! You can see a better image in dark mode, which should be made available on a future upgrade. Thanks.

Shame on Adobe for discriminating against those with visual issues who find Dark Mode easier to work with. It's disgusting that in 2022 you've actually tkaen a step back and made things MORE light as well as removed customization of the back grey canvas. Will review Elements 2023 accordingly... 1 star. Zero tolerance for this attitude towards us when every other place has now added dark mode...

I am changing my previous answer of no, to yes, you can have a dark mode-with a bit of work....

I had to take a picture with my phone- I could not use my screen capture utility to make an actual screenshot.

Just turn off the high contrast when done.... I could see doing this if you were working in pse for a few hours in a sittiing.

CTRL-I inverts the image on the canvas so it looks normal.

A new 2022 user as if today and I'm dumbfounded at the lack of a dark mode. I found the contrast very helpful in organizing and editing.

PLEASE offer this option in an update!

Dark mode may work to decrease eye strain and dry eye for some people who spend a lot of time staring at screens. However, there's no conclusive date that proves dark mode works for anything besides extending the battery life of your device. It doesn't cost anything and won't hurt your eyes to give dark mode a try.

This is the default view/ mode in photoshop, not photoshop elements.  Used just to show a dark mode interface.

People with astigmatism (approximately 50% of the population) find it harder to read white text on black than black text on white. Part of this has to do with light levels: with a bright display (white background) the iris closes a bit more, decreasing the effect of the “deformed” lens; with a dark display (black background) the iris opens to receive more light and the deformation of the lens creates a much fuzzier focus at the eye.

It would seem like an easy thing to me to program.

It's also a trend.

I want the brush tools to be floating like they are in in photoshop- but it will probably never happen. Why?  $$. There are reasons why the program is so cheap.

I suspect PSE is deliberately designed to look as cheap & tacky as it does so that Adobe can demonstrate how inferior it is when compared to full Photoshop.

By the way, I have diagnosed astigmatism and my spectacles have always been adjusted to correct the problem by good opticians. I've ALWAYS preferred dark backgrounds.  Light backgrounds, however, are not very good for me.....I frequently suffer from Classic Migraine with aura.

Shame on you Adobe.

Dark mode is a must. The overwhelming brightness of the gui in Elements is attrocious. Even bringing it down to a 50% gray would be something worth offering.

I just got Photoshop Elements and also discovered that dark mode is not available. I like to request that this feature is made available. Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for your input. We currently do not have support for switching themes/modes, but I have forwarded your feedback to our team and would raise a feature request around this.

It would be helpful if other users who would like to have this support can upvote by hitting the like button on this thread.

Thanks,

I swittched from the 2019 to 2022 version yesterday and the light user interface was a disappointment for me. The dark theme was much more comfortable to the eyes and distracted less from the picture. For a photo editor dark mode is the best option in my opinion. Even Windows gives the opportunity to switch between light and dark modes. So thank you for passing Hendrikk's request to the team. The font of the menus is more ugly, in my opinion but it's legible indeed, so I can live with that.

Eric, can the toolbars fonts be made larger? I cannot find it within the preferences.

Thanks,
