Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 on Windows 11 [Organizer unable to read HEIC/HEIF files]

Hi , I just bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 and I am having a problem with it on my new Windows 11 PC.

Most of my photographs are from my iPhone and are in the HEIC format. And The Organiser software is telling me that it can't read these files. It tells me that I need to install the HEIF Image Extension for Windows 10

However I have already installed the HEIF Image Extension and HEVC Video Extension for Windows 11 installed.

Is this a know issue or is there any workaround / fix.

Thanks

I am having the same problem.  I tried all the suggestions given with out any luck.   Has this issue been resolved with anyone and if so would you kindly provide the resolution?

This still doesn't work.   I've tried restarting adobe, clearing the cache, and reinstalling all of the programs.  Windows Photos opens the files without issue.  Adobe redirects me to the installation page instructions that don't work.  Hard to imagine being more frustrated with this purchase at this point.

Hi Colin,

Thank you for reaching out on the Adobe Forums. Could you please share a screenshot of what happens when you try to import HEIC files into your EO Catalog on a Win 11 machine?

Attached is an example of what happens for me on SOME heic files (not all of them).

Note, when I move the mouse cursor over the blank photo it draws a circle around faces it recognizes!

So it has somehow interpreted the picture correctly but is not displaying correctly.

Thank you, would it be possible for you to share a sample image so that we can have a look at our end and investigate?

I have the same problem. Sometimes it works sometimes Organizer crashes.

I dont think Adobe have tested propoerly on Windows 11.

Thank you! I was afraid this was the case. I'll wait (again) to buy a version of Elements that actually supports these formats.
