Adobe Photoshop --not able to open and use

Today while working on a photoshop Adobe had an update I had to allow in order to continue my project.  Now Adobe does not open photos and I cannot use it.  It tells me my trial is over.  I bought the disk at full price recently and loaded it into my computer.  I am totally disgusted.  I had an old Adobe Photoshop that worked well.
