Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer and 4k H.265 video
I ran through a handful of different forums and comments about issues with the Organizer and thumbnails when I later determined the Organizer does not support 4k video for thumbnails because of "codec issues" <--- quote from Adobe chat/support.
When I heard that, I was pretty much over the idea of using Elements, because without a thumbnail of some sort, it's basically a useless tool. It seems all of my 4k videos would not provide a thumbnail within the organizer OR the Premiere Elements Project Assets view.
I later discovered, the video's wouldn't even play in Elements either........?
Which is when I realized when I selected to record 4k video on my phone, I selected H.265, which Elements currently doesn't support.
After recording a video in H.264, the thumbnail still does not show in Organizer (which seems extremely odd to me, given the application's purpose is to help you ORGANIZE your videos, although you have no preview of them?.... because of codec issues?? when a thumbnail works just fine within Elements Assets? This seems really strange to me,..but I digress..
It works within the Assets section, which makes it a lot easier to deal with, but it can't be H.265 (yet?, hopefully will be supported in the near future?).
I just found this link and will be converting the small number of files I have to H.264.
