Have created a new Album category and created several Albums within that category.

If you are in Media view and selecting the Album category,  should you not see  the album names and structure ?  Selecting only albums shows the correct photographs ok.

Doug,

Not sure what your are expecting, but when you have chosen the 'album' view in the left panel instead of the 'folders' view, the album category is just a way to group its albums, to collapse the list or to display the list. You can't select all the files in a category in the media view, you only select the various albums in that category. Displaying the files in an album works as expected, displaying all the files in a category makes no sense, since because albums have different sort orders.

The categories are handy to avoid a list of hundreds of albums by showing groups in a shorter list.

. . . But you can do a Search for multiple Albums and all of the photos in those Albums will be displayed in the grid.

thanks for that tip Grep.

I have been using apple Photos, and by default it does show all the sub albums associated to the album category
