All texts, in all fonts, are now warped by default. Help fixing this?

I am useing  Photoshop Elements 15, and no matter what font I choose, all the words are spaced out. I've learned this is called kern and tracking, but I can not figure out how to undo whatever change was made that is causing this.   In the past individual letters have been the normal space apart.   Any help is much appreciated.
