Question

All the 39 images in specific folder disappeared

After editing photos in editorial workspace successfully, I switched to Organizer and was able to get them into a catalog,  I can view the thumbnails there.  Then I switched back to Editorial workspace, and the images are no longer there.  I clicked Open Recent edited.  Nothing.  Went to Explorer, etc, etc and it always says the folder is empty.

I'm not clear about your workflow either.  We need to know more about what you did.

  • Where were the files stored on your computer before you started editing them?
  • Or were you creating photos from scratch?
  • How did you import the files into the Organizer?
  • Did you use the Editor's Save As dialog to save the files to the Organizer?  If the files were already in the Organizer, did you save the edited copy in a Version Set?

  • Did you edit the files by opening them from a memory card?
  • Do the thumbnails in the Organizer have a yellow question mark icon in the top corner?  Or if you double-click on them, do they show up as missing?

If the files in the Organizer are not missing, try selecting a photo and pressing Ctrl+I.  The file should open in the Editor.

If the files are not missing in the Organizer, select an image and click on the Location link in the Information panel, on the right of the window.

The folder where the file is stored will open in a Windows Explorer window.

If the files are still missing, look in the Recycle Bin.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.  I had already found all of them in the Recycle bin.  What must have happened was that I accidentally checked "Select all" instead of just one, thus deleting them all to the Recycle bin.  I am surprised that the Explorer search did not find them in the Recycle bin.  I eventually set it to just the Recycle bin where it found them.

Can't help you with your images no longer being there-- your workflow seems a bit clunky though... I like to keep things simple.

You are making work for yourself.   In the future, do this:

@kahill1919

Photoshop does not have an Editorial workspace or Organizer or Catalog. I've moved your post from Photoshop to Photoshop Elements for you.
