I need to have two video side by side to compare. Is this possible?

If you are talking about the Organizer, select the two videos and press F12 The thumbnails of each will be placed side by side, but you cannot play them in this view.

If I undertand you correctly, you want the videos to play side by side. If that is the case, you need to use a video editor such as Adobe Premiere Elements.
