Question

Are you able to tell me how to paste something in exactly the same place in another picture?

Hello,
Across the top left corner is a logo on a transparent background (1200 x 1200, but the logo is much smaller than that). As well as the photo of the shoes I am selling (also 1200 x 1200), I want to paste the logo so it always appears in the same place for every product I sell.

Using the selection tool, I copied the entire logo image. After choosing my shoes, I clicked on paste into selection to paste the entire image. However, my logo appears in the center of the image, not in a corner. Is there something I'm doing wrong? This is my first time using Photoshop, so I really appreciate any help you can give me!

When I sold image sets on my web site I usually just used one main template containing my logo- and then had different layers- each layer with a different image... sometimes 40 layers.  I just turned off all the layers, except for the one product I wanted to show, saved and exported, then turned that layer off, and turned another one on.  It worked for me.

Yes, I like the idea of a simple template.

You have a monochrome background and a single logo layer on a transparent layer with the background selected in the layers panel.

You only have to drag the cropped photo of the object to sell and drag and drop it on the canvas in the editing space. The image will be inserted between the background and the logo. Ready to flatten and save as a new name.

You only have to crop the object image to square, you can ignore pixels, size and resolution, the dragged image is a smart layer. The only requisite is that the square side be equal or more than 1200 pixels.

Variant:

(Your logo must be situated on a transparent layer, exactly where you want and saved as a square 1200 x 1200 pixels)

Your object photo is opened and both are visible in the photo bin.

If you drag the logo over the object layer, it appears on the center of the canvas. But you want it on the correct location.

So, instead of dragging the logo over the object, drag the object file from the photobin to the canvas of the logo.

Just go to the layers panel, unlock the logo background and move it over the object. The logo will stay at the desired location.

Since you always have a picture with the same size ( 1200 x 1200 pixels), I suggest to create your logo on a white background of also 1200 x 1200 pixels. You can paste it or drag it from the photo bin over the picture and set the blending mode to multiply.

Edit:

The above solution only works for a black logo, sorry....
