BACKUP of CATALOG AND ORIGINAL FILES IN PSE 14

I use PSE 14.  For various reasons I have not backed up my Catalog for about 6 months.  Having refreshed on the various forums I am now very confused about what 'Backup Catalog' actually does.  I want to back up the Catalog (reference to the photos and the individual photo icons?) and the original full-size photos themselves.  Please: does 'Backup Catalogue' do all this or do I need to 'Backup Catalogue' for the references AND Copy/Paste or 'Send To' for the actual photos?

Regards.

The backup feature in the File menu of the organizer saves both the catalog (database containing your organization: keywords, albums, notes, legends, stacks, version sets...) AND all the picture files referenced in the catalog. The catalog is the whole FOLDER containing the database and its associated files and subfolders as well as the cache for your thumbnails. The backup is packed into another FOLDER containing everything to restore both catalog and picture files. The backup folder is not a simple copy of your files and cannot be used otherwise than by using the restore function of the organizer. The restore procedure lets you restore either in the original location or on a custom location (new drive or new computer). The restore process recreates the image folder tree and the catalog and keeps the links in the database correctly associated with the new location.
