Black Bars on PS Elements covering top and bottom of editor screen

I just installed PS Elements 2024, and when I open the editor, I see black bars running across the majority of the screen.  Whatever is underneath can't be "clicked" and I've tried the traditional fixes (Have you tried turning it off and on again? - Roy) with no luck. I'm running Windows 11 and I don't see these lines when I open the catalog or in any other app.

Thanks Greg! I contacted Adobe support as you suggested (typing "agent" made this quick and simple BTW) and implemented their suggestion (below) and all is good now.

From Adobe Support:

Please close Photoshop Elements 2024 and follow the steps given below: Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2024, right-click on the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file, and click on Properties>Compatibility>Change high DPI Settings>Override high DPI scaling behavior>System Enhanced.

I have seen this mentioned once or twice, but don't recall seeing a solution on the forum.  Try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by going to the Contact Adobe Support page and clicking on the chat button in the lower right corner of the page. Make sure you are signed into your Adobe account and try typing Agent when the chat window opens.

In the meantime, try reducing the size of the program window using the Windows Maximize/Restore buttons in the top right corner of the screen.

And have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

The missing parts of the top line are displayed in the following screenshot:

Try clicking just right of center on the black line and see whether the program changes to Advanced Mode from the default Quick Mode which appears to be where you are at.

You can also try going to Edit>Preferences>General and changing from Light to Dark Modes.

Please report back if you find a solution.

Same problem and same solution encountered with Photoshop Elements 2025 using Win11.  Instead of going into Program Files, I found it simpler to just right click on the Photoshop Elements 2025 icon on the desktop, then follow the Properties>Compatibility etc sequence.  Don't forget to click Apply, then OK at the end.
