Question

"Blend If" in Elements+

I find Elements+ incredibly useful (Quick Mask Gradient Tool, for example) but I've never experimented with its Blend If feature to manage channel noise before today.  The sliders don't seem to do anything.  I get that this Photoshop Elements discussion's forum isn't for Elements+ specific topic's so I'm only hoping for a quick tip if any user's have anything to offer.  Thank's.

I have never used the Elements+ plugin but I would expect it to behave just like Photoshop CC.  You may want to look at some Photoshop tutorials to help you out with the Blend If command.  There are plenty of them.

Thank's for your suggestion Greg, I've already viewed a bunch of those.  They didn't answer my E+ questions but that's okay, it's plenty useful for other things too.  A video of Russel Brown breaking it all down would be awesome though.   😃

The "Blend If"effect depends on many things:

- brightness of the current and underlying layers,

- colors of the current and underlying layers,

- channel selected in the "Blend If" menu,

- selected tab ("This Layer" or "Underlying Layer"),

- the "levels" set with the sliders.

If you post your source images here ("upper" and "under" ones)

I try to find the suitable settings.
