Blue colour on clone stamp repair

I am currently trying to repair an old B/W photo of my in-laws.

It's been pretty badly scratched and folded, and I got so far in repairing it, then for some reason the clone stamp started to leave a pale blue colour on repaired areas!!

I'm pretty new to this post production business, and I'm getting on in years to learn new stuff so I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me!

    In Editor, go to Image menu>Mode and check grayscale.
