Blur Brush-Elements 12 Mac

I have blurred a face using the brush. The outline of the area is showing. Face shows behind. How do I proceed to save. Used Save As but no changes saved.

    This didn't solve the problem. The problem is when I am using the blur

    tool on a face, the tool outlines the area to be blurred. Nothing happens

    as the face is still visible, it's just framed with a line. When I save it

    the face is still there. I need the blur to work.

    I have not found the blur tool to work very well, even in luminosity mode.

    Try the smudge tool as this may obscure the facial features more effectively.
