bottom toolbar

How the heck do I relocate the bottom toolbar (which is horribly placed) to the side or make it invisible? I have used adobe photoshop for years but I thought I would invest in the elements 2018 for my new laptop. So far, I find the layout of the tool bar on the bottom and the really stupid top bar for open elive, quick, guided, expert, etc..a total waste of image editing space. I hope there are solutions to this poorly designed layout. I totally understand the reduction of tools in the elements version but decreasing the available imaging space is just ridiculous. Help?

    You can't.

What you can do is to hide the bar or swith to the photo bin.

Or, much better, learn the shortcuts to manage panels. Also allow the preference to float windows in expert mode.

As I doubt that Adobe help staff will answer on the reasons of that debatable choice of interface, I'll give you my personal view on the matter.

The interface for Elements has been totally reworked to the tastes and requirements from non pro users (not for enthusiasts downgrading from PS). Smaller screens, light backgrounds... most of those users could no longer stand the dark background in PS or LR.

    Thanks Michel,

It seems to me that Adobe really missed out on a great opportunity by introducing elements users to a higher standard of editing thus encouraging them to upgrade to Photoshop. I am so discouraged that I spent $100.00 on a program that had so little thought put into its layout. Its funny though, I read all the great things about elements, comparing the differences from photoshop and nowhere was there any indication that the layout/toolbar's  couldn't be moved depending on the users preference. So sad. And such a minor bit of programming too. Well, I will give this elements to my 8 year old niece. At least she wont notice such a poorly designed program..
