Question

bought new computer and want to upgrade from Elements 10 to Elements 15

NOTE: Not sure if this is relevant, but I use Elements for editing only. I go into the Organizer only to export edited images as TIFF files and JPEG files into my computer's Pictures Folder.

I have the original software for Elements 10, which I installed in and used with my previous, now defunct computer.

Do I buy totally new software for Elements 15 and install that as a fresh application for my new computer, or do I install Elements 10 into my new computer and then upgrade to Elements 15? Again, I don't use Organizer, except to export edited images as TIFF and JPEG files into my computer's Pictures Folder.

Each version of the program is independent. There is no "upgrade", as a new version does not overwrite a previously installed version.

Bottom line: Install PSEv.15 on your new machine if you desire to have the latest iteration of the software.

Since you have the disk for PSEv.10, and, presumably, the serial number, why not try v.10 on your new computer. It may work!

Yes, the two programs are completely independent of each other.
