Question

BUG with the font size Elements 24

I am creating a 12 x 12 scrapbook page.  When I select a text box I have to enter a size 1 font to get it to be small enough to fit on the page - but really that is still bigger than I want.

If I use a size 12 font it prints out at about 1" long.

Could be user error as I am new to Elements

On windows 10 and 11 press the Windows logo key + Print Screen key to make a screenshot which

will be in the Screenshots folder in your Pictures folder.

Really helps to post screen shots of what's going on.   Could be user error?  Nope- It is user error.

Font sizes are based up old print sizes.   There are 72 vertical points per inch in printing.  A 72 font at 100% will print at 1" tall.  A 36 sized font, at 100% zoom will print at 1/2 inch tall.  A 12 sized font?  1/6th of an inch tall when zoomed at 100%.

Don't worry so much about font size- make it whatever size you need it to be.  Start with 12 sized fonts  simply becouase that is the size of standard printed text.

When  setting stuff like your sheets up zoom to 100%.

Ensure your screen resolution in your preference file is set to match your actual screen PPI resolution.

Thank you so much for your answer and for the explanation.

In order to get the font size to fit I have to use a 0.5 font for the body
of the paragraph or a 1 for the Title.

I'll look into the screen resolution and the PPI resolution

I was unable to get a screenshot of the Elements page. I have a PC and it
would not take a screenshot of Elements.

I could have printed the page and scanned it I guess. I'll do that if I
have any more questions.
