I have just downloaded and installed the Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop Elements 26 but how do I know it is working? Or is it already included in the app? There doesn't seem to be a reference to it in Elements so I had a look in my apps folder but cannot see it. Basically I just need to validate it's there and working ok. I am on Mac OS.

    Thanks. Found this.

Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) is included with Adobe Photoshop Elements, including the 2026 version. However, the plugin is no longer pre-packaged with the initial installation. [12]

Because of this, you will need to do a quick, one-time download to get it working. To install and access it: [1]

    1. Install: Open the Photoshop Elements Editor, go to the Help menu, and click Install Camera Raw.
    2. Access: Open your RAW files by going to File > Open in Camera Raw. [12]

Once installed, it operates as a floating editor above your main workspace, allowing you to fine-tune your RAW photos with basic adjustments like exposure, highlights, shadows, and color balance before you bring the image into the main Elements editor. [123]

There are a few things not included with the original download- by design- it’s keeps the original download size smaller-- ACR for example-- seem to recall it’s 1.7GB.    All the graphics need to be downloaded before you can use them- that is what that little blue trial is for in the graphic thumbnail- that little triangle goes away once that graphic is downloaded.

There is no place to go to so you can download all the graphics all at once.

    Go to the Editor menu:

    Help > About Plug-In > Camera Raw

You should see a pop-up confirming installation.

Press the esc key to close the pop-up.
