I'm trying to edit some raw files in elements 12 but they will not open. I tried downloading the plug in 8.5 but I have windows xp and just saw that it will not work with it. How can I fix this?? I downloaded a dng converter but it will not convert the files
Raw files from which camera? Make and model.

The answer is probably that your version of Elements is too old to reognize your Raw files and there are no updates for PSE 12 to recognize your Raw files.
Your options will be to upgrade to PSE 15 or use the DNG converter.

The DNG converter does not convert files. It converts folders full of Raw files. Point it to the correct folder and the converter does the rest.
