Camera vs Elements image size

I recently shot images with my Nikon D550 set on Fine and L which indicate they are 6000 x 4000 pixels.

When I import them to print into my IMac and PSE, the file info reads 1084 x 774 pixels.

Why does it "downsize" my jpeg image size?

Same problem Sony a7111.

Now we know it can't be the cameras.
