Can Anyone HELP with legacy product activation
After my wife passed away in January, I had to wipe her hard drive and re-install all her applications, one of which was Photoshop Elements Version 7.0. I found my serial number on my account at Adobe.com, and downloaded a new copy of the program. After a few tries, it finally installed, but would not accept the Serial Number. Since Adobe has hidden all their phone numbers very well, I tried Live Chat. After quite a wait, I was told that the Version 7.0 was no longer being supported on live chat and that I should check the Forums. So I did, and found my problem was most likely that I failed to deactivate the program before I wiped her hard drive, and I most likely exceeded the number of activations. Now's a great time to find this out. The suggestion was to contact Adobe at 800-642-3623 and get the activations reset. It was a 2014 answer, that phone line has been disconnected. So, I'm back on the Live Chat to see if they can reset my activations. After being the queue for 3 1/2 hours ("Wait time is Approximately 51 minutes"), I got to someone named Manasvi. He spent 30 minutes telling me over and over that Version 7.0 was no longer supported via live chant and that I needed to submit to the forums. He was not at all kind or helpful even when I suggested that he could support me as a loyal, longtime adobe customer (From PS 2.0) even if he could not support the program. So I'm turning once again to the forums.
I can load the program, but when I enter my verified, valid serial number, it says it is not valid. So, can anybody on the forums help? This does not bode well for my continued business relationship with Adobe. You all are my last hope.
