Can black calligraphy on a white background be changed to be white lettering on a green background?

I have Photoshop Elements 11 loaded on my Win 10 PC. I have calligraphy which I've saved as a JPG.
Are there steps I can take to convert it to white lettering on a green background? I hope so, it's what I want for my Christmas card, and look forward to learning how. Thanks very much. E Chadick

Try this:

Add a gradient map adjustment layer over your layer palette.

- menu Layer >> new adjustment layer >> gradient map

Choose the black to white preset

Change the color of the left tab to white, the color of the right tab to your preferred green.
