Can I change the pathway to where my 'Duplicates' end up?

I always have a hard time finding the photo that I just duplicated.  IE:  I go to the top and click on 'File' Then I click 'Duplicate' That sends my duplicate to some strange place like C: Users\d Or something like that. Is there a way I can configure PSE 15 so that the 'Duplicate' ends up on my DESKTOP?

The command File >> Duplicate has a different purpose than the File >> Export as new file one.

The general rule for coherent database (catalog) management is to forbid duplicates. You create various ways to access a single media file (several albums for instance), but you don't copy the file. One obvious advantage beside saving disk space is that if you update the single file, it will appear updated in all the albums it is included.

As a result, the organizer has a filter in the 'Import' dialog to exclude importing a file twice in a catalog.

That's the reason why the 'Export' command lets you copy the file anywhere without importing the result in the catalog.

But in rare situations you might have a good reason to include a real duplicate in the catalog.

When you create a duplicate, the organizer adds a -copy suffix and knows it's an authorized, voluntary duplicate. By default, the duplicate is added in the same subfolder as the original, and its thumbnail appears beside the original in the organizer.

Usually, you simply drag that thumbnail to the target folder in the left folders panel; you may also use the File >> move command.
