Can I hide xmp files in Windows 7?

I want to use xmp files, but they clutter my folders and cut the number of image thumbnails I can see at any one time in half. In Control Panel I checked "Don't show hidden files, folders and drives", but the xmp's still show. Is there a way to hide them?

    First, I hate Organizer.

Then you are working in the Windows explorer. Ask Microsoft. I am afraid you can't hide the sidecar files (even if I suggest that you try to use a browser like Bridge, Faststone...)

    The organizer rocks!

If there is a technical reason you hate organizer, please ask. If it's phychological, we can't help.

Second, at the same thumbnail size, I can view 91 thumbnails in Windows 7 and only 50 in the Organizer.

    FYI: I use PSE 2018.

You can zoom the thumbnails in the organizer. You can also switch from the default 'adaptative view' to the 'detailed' view with file names and date taken. Shortcut Ctrl D.

They contain the edit settings for the corresponding raw files. Why not use Organizer to view the thumbnails?
