    You don't copy anything when using external hard drives. They are considered as just normal internal drives. You simply have to have them plugged in. You can even set an external hard drive as the default download destination in the preferences of the organizer. You can select your drive when you are downloading. The organizer can move files and folders from one drive to another etc.

    Tip for Windows users:

    It's a good idea to use Windows to assign specific letters to each of your individual external hard drives. For instance, there is less risk that a drive with letter S, T, U, V... will be assigned to another device already plugged in than with letters D, E, F...
