Can't edit or delete TIF files in PSE '25 - Windows 11

Whenever I try to work with TIF files created on my Epson scanner I get the following error message.  What do I need to do differently?  I have over a TB of free disk space, so space isn't the problem.  At 15MB, this isn't a large file.   Thanks.

You have have Photoshop Elements 2025 or Photoshop Elements 2026?

I ask because there was a specific bug just as your describe with TIf files in Photoshop Elements 2026 that was fixed in an update.

Jeff, I have Photoshop Elements 2025.  I'd read about the problem with '26 and was surprised to encounter it in '25.  If it has been fixed in the '26 version I'm more surprised that it still exists in '25.

Thanks Peru Bob.  I tried renaming within Organizer, without success.  Renaming in Windows Explorer achieved the desired result but is going to create extra work as the TIFF files will be imported into Organizer as new files, and the old TIF files will have to be deleted as files that can't reconnect to the catalogue.

Perhaps I'll ignore these TIF files for a few months in the hope that Adobe finds a way to properly handle TIF.
