Question

Can't edit type

I can't edit a type layer. When click the type tool in the layer (either in the picture or the layer palette), a new layer is created.

I've had 30 years using Photoshop with ease, so perhaps I'm expecting this to work similarly.

Any tip would be appreciated. Thank you.

The type layer does not lend itselt to editing text once the green checkmark has been clicked. However, the text can be moved as a block utilizing the move tool.

The adaptive response to reality is to delete the layer with text and  replace it with the correct syntax.

Thanks for the reply and the help. I have redone the text on a new layer, and I can now select the text. The font and leading are editable, but can’t change the colour. The text is selected, and I click on the colour picker or a swatch. This is as far as the Adobe help takes me. I would expect the selected text to then change colour, but it doesn’t.

Any clues?

On the Type tool's option bar, do you see a "color picker" square box to set the color for the text?

Hi,

I've had exactly the same problem and found the only way is to persevere,

I kept undoing the Type layers and trying again and eventually a cursor appeared and I could enter my text.

It's quite frustrating but in my case worked eventually.

I hope that helps.
