Can't get Adobe Album 2.0 working in Windows 10

I've been using Adobe Album for over 15 years and have ported it from system to system with no problems until now.  I had a working album of about 17,000 pictures running on Windows 7 but when I tried to install on Windows 10 I had a few problems.  I overcame these by running in Compatibility mode but when I tried to start the Album program I am receiving an error message "DirectX could not be installed".  Surprising since I have installed the Album many times without getting this message.  Anyway I was able to install DirectX but I still get the error message.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I know I can pert over to Photoshop Essentials but that doesn't seem to be a slam dunk.

You probably just need to enable Direct Play

    - Click "Start Button"

    - Type "Turn Windows Feature On & Off"

    - Open it

    - Check for "Legacy Components"

    - Click the + sign

    - Check "Direct Play"
