Can't Install PSE 11 on Mac

I can't seem to install my old PSE 11 onto my sister's Mac. We were able to download it directly from the website, but when we try to run the installer, the computer says, "there is no application set to open the document "Set-up.exe." How do we even open the installer? Do we need to download something else to her Mac?

You have verify if you or your sister downloaded the mac or windows version of pse 11.

Adobe customer support was where the download link came from?

If the file has a 7z or .exe extension, then it's a windows installer.

I believe you need to follow the instructions under Creative Suite 5.5, 5, and 4

    on this page:

My sister says she doesn't have a DMG file in the first place.

If she’s downloaded an .exe file then she’s inadvertently downloaded the Windows version.

She needs to go back and download the Mac version which is a .dmg file.
